About Gayle and the team.

GS Associates Accounting & Bookkeeping was founded by Gayle Gardner-Shaw MAAT, an AAT licensed member (licence no. 1010066), and is based at The Wellington Business Centre in Uttoxeter. Susanne Bignell (AATQB) and Angie Parry work alongside her, so you deal with a small team that knows your business.

Meet our founder

Gayle Gardner-Shaw

Founder · MAAT

Gayle has spent more than 20 years in accountancy, supporting owner-managed businesses through their day-to-day accounts and their bigger decisions. Before GS Associates she worked in independent accountancy practices, across bookkeeping, payroll, business accounts and personal tax.

Her particular interest is helping business owners understand what their figures mean. She started GS Associates so clients could pick up the phone and ask questions without feeling intimidated, whether they’re starting out, taking on staff or improving how they run the business. That’s still how we work.

Susanne supports clients with bookkeeping, financial records and day-to-day accounts queries, and coordinates routine payroll work. She helps keep information complete and follows up on anything needed to move the work forward.

Angie Parry

Accounts & Administration

Currently taking AAT exams

Angie coordinates appointments, incoming records and administration, helping clients and the team keep track of what is needed. She is developing her accounting knowledge through her AAT studies.

The way we work

How we
work.

You’ll know who is handling your work: Angie organises enquiries, appointments and incoming information. Susanne looks after day-to-day bookkeeping and routine payroll. Gayle oversees accounts, tax and the more involved questions, with responsibility for the final technical review. We keep shared records of outstanding information and deadlines, so another team member can help when someone is away, and before the January rush we agree submission dates and flag anything that needs attention early.
Clear about the work and the fee: We’ll agree what we handle, what we need from you and a fixed fee before we start. How our fees work
Based in Uttoxeter: Our office is at The Wellington Business Centre on High Street, open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, with meetings by appointment. We work across Staffordshire and remotely with businesses throughout the UK, and can visit your premises where it helps, with travel and any fee agreed beforehand.Visiting us? Call first so we can let you through the gate.
Advice, and honest referrals: Alongside the routine work we offer cash-flow forecasts, regular reviews of how the business is performing and tax-planning discussions suited to your circumstances. Where a matter needs specialist expertise, such as pension advice or commercial finance, we’ll say so and arrange an introduction to a separate adviser, with their role and any referral arrangement made clear.
