What we record
each month.
Every month we record your invoices, receipts and bank transactions, match them to your bank statement and chase anything that's missing. You get a clear picture of what you've earned, what you've spent and what you owe.
- Sales and purchase records
- Invoices raised, bills received and receipts captured, with the VAT treated correctly where it applies.
- Bank reconciliation
- Every transaction matched, so your software agrees with your bank and nothing is missed or counted twice.
- Ready for the next job
- VAT returns, quarterly updates, payroll and year-end accounts all start from the same clean records.VAT & Making Tax Digital

A routine that fits you
How to send us
your records.
We agree how records reach us: a phone app for receipts, a bank feed into the software, a monthly email or a folder you drop things into. Then we agree what you look at and when.
Our founder Gayle has seen what goes wrong when the books are left until year end: expenses forgotten, VAT claimed on the wrong things, a tax bill nobody put money aside for. Regular bookkeeping is how we keep you out of that.
We're a FreeAgent Partner, a Sage Partner and a Xero Certified Partner, and we also work with QuickBooks. See the software we support

Bookkeeping
Your questions,
answered.
Can I still hand everything over once a year?
For some sole traders, yes, for now. But if Making Tax Digital for Income Tax applies to you, HMRC expects digital records and quarterly updates during the year, so a once-a-year shoebox no longer works. We'll tell you honestly which side of that line you're on, and agree a routine that suits you.

What if I'm not confident with software?
Then we do more of it and you do less. We'll agree a way for you to share receipts and other records, such as photographing them on your phone and sending us your bank statements, and explain which tasks we'll handle. If you already use software, we'll look at it before suggesting a change. We're partners with FreeAgent, Sage and Xero.
Why does my bookkeeping need to be more regular?
Because tidy, up-to-date records are what every other job depends on: VAT returns, quarterly updates, payroll, your year-end accounts and knowing what tax to put aside. Doing it monthly is less work overall than untangling a year at once, and it helps you plan for your tax bill.
What does bookkeeping cost?
We agree a fixed monthly or quarterly fee based on how many transactions you have, how you get the records to us and which software you use. Software subscriptions are explained separately. If your business grows, we review the fee with you rather than surprising you.
Do you offer bookkeeping on its own?
Yes. Some clients only need the books kept and their VAT returns done, and keep another arrangement for their year-end. Others want everything under one roof. Either way, we agree the scope in writing first.
Want the books off your desk?
Tell us how you keep your records now. We'll suggest a routine, agree a fixed fee and take it from there.
