Employers have to put eligible staff into a workplace pension and keep contributing. We assess your team each pay run, calculate the contributions, submit the contribution information to your pension provider and handle the three-yearly re-enrolment. Where the provider collects by Direct Debit we coordinate the submission and explain what needs to happen; you authorise the payment arrangement and make sure the funds are there.
At the end of the tax year we prepare P60s for your staff, report any benefits and expenses, and reconcile what you've paid HMRC against what was due, so any difference is picked up.

I only employ a couple of people. Do I still need payroll run properly?
Yes. If you employ someone, we'll check whether you need to register for PAYE; it depends on what they're paid and their circumstances. Where PAYE applies, pay has to be reported to HMRC on or before each payday, employees need payslips, and eligible staff must be assessed for a workplace pension. The rules are the same for two people as for twenty; the difference is how long it takes, and that's reflected in the fee.

What do you need from me each pay period?
Hours or salaries, any starters and leavers, and anything unusual such as sick pay, holiday pay or a bonus. We agree a cut-off date, run the payroll, send you the payslips and a summary of what to pay staff, HMRC and the pension scheme, and file the reports.
Can you deal with the workplace pension too?
Yes. We assess who must be enrolled, calculate the contributions each pay run, submit the contribution information to your pension provider and keep the records The Pensions Regulator expects, including re-enrolment every three years. You remain responsible for authorising the payment arrangement; any additional payment administration is agreed separately. We administer the scheme and don't give regulated investment advice.

Will you deal with HMRC for me?
With your authorisation, yes. We can be your agent for PAYE, so HMRC letters and queries about your payroll come to us. If something is wrong, such as a payment allocated to the wrong period, we sort it rather than you sitting on hold.
What does payroll cost?
A fixed monthly fee based on how many people you pay and how often. Pension administration, year-end forms and dealing with HMRC are agreed as part of it, so there's no surprise for a P60 or a P11D. Ask us for a quote.
